Born in a family of traditional musicians, Ustad Moinuddin Khan began his studies at a very young age under the tutelage of his father, Ustad Shadi Khan. Today, Moinuddin Khan is counted amongst the leading exponents of the illustrious Beenkar of Senia Gharana, which is inherited, from his father, Ustad Shadi Khan, who was a leading disciple of Ustad Ahmed Baksh Khan.

Moinuddin Khan worked with All India Radio, Indore for a number of years. He was always invited to perform in the prestigious music conferences held all over India. Being such a remarkable musician, he twice performed Sarangi solo, in the "All India Radio National Highlights" before a national audience.

Through his association with All India Radio, Moinuddin Khan became a highly respected performing partner for artists of such stature as Ustad Bade Gulam Ali Khan, Ustad Amir Khan, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Begam Aktar, Ustad Faiyaz Khan, and many others.

Moinuddin Khan has also been active as a master teacher of sarangi, violin, and voice. He has taught many people who are professional musicians, and are also associated with All India Radio. It is through these teaching endeavors that he strives to perpetuate the richness and beauty of his vast musical heritage.
